My son was barely reading at grade level at the end of kindergarten and was extremely stressed about going into first grade. He was scared to not be able to keep up with the rest of his class, failing, or falling behind if they moved to fast. I spent the first month of summer trying to help him and his frustration was so bad it always ended in tears so I decided to try to find tutoring and came across Bee Your Best through recommendations from friends. We did 8 weeks and it went better than I could've thought. Every week he couldn't wait to go. He was always excited to pick out a new book & loved coming home to read to me! I was amazed at what a quick turnaround it was from dreading reading time to him asking for extra reading time! By the time summer was over, he couldn't wait for first grade. By Christmas time, he was reading at a 2nd grade level and has had straight A's all year. We just signed up my younger son to get him ready for kindergarten & my older son will be going back this summer to get him a jump start on 2nd grade math.
